Topsoil of humous loess loam, beneath yellow calcareous marl resting on light slate and granite. The high steep cliffs warm in the sun and slowly release this heat to the vines, while constant winds blow through the Rhine valley. Thus, the vines stand with ‘warm feet’ in cooling winds. The wines here show particular power, grandeur, and remarkable elegance.

On the nose, cream and vanilla blossoms with a hint of lemon zest and white pepper. On the palate, it is supple yet dense, with fine citrus fruits and a touch of white currants accompanied by white pepper. Exceptionally compact, complex, and long, this wine already offers finesse, delicate fruit, and spice. Over the next 5 years, it will continue to blossom, evolve, and reveal increasing complexity and facets.
