Roter Berg Kenzingen

Iron ore was once mined in the area. A red, ferruginous soil with shell limestone and red calcareous sandstone as the upper layer, underpinned by lime marl with a high proportion of clay guarantee an excellent supply of nutrients to the vines. There is a gentle thermal with restrained winds from the Rhine plain. The strong and rich soil produces wines full of tension, spice and body.
