Roter Berg Kenzingen

Iron ore used to be mined in the area. A red, iron-rich soil with shell limestone and red calcareous sandstone as the top layer, underpinned by calcareous marl with a high clay content guarantee an excellent supply of nutrients for the vines. There are gentle thermals with restrained winds from the Rhine plain. The strong and rich soil produces wines full of tension, spice and race.
